Our Story
Every great journey begins with a single step, and ours began in 1998. That was the year Tony launched his career as a Registered Massage Therapist while Alicia and Tony also began building a life together. Tony started practicing out of a physiotherapy clinic in Port Elgin, where he gained valuable experience caring for clients and developing his passion for helping others. As his practice grew, he ventured out on his own and later partnered with a Naturopathic Doctor, laying the foundation for what would become Maple Shores Health Centre.
After completing her Bachelor of Arts in Education in Maine, Alicia returned home to Port Elgin in 2002 to begin her teaching career. While pursuing her passion for education, she also worked alongside Tony from the very beginning of his career—supporting the growth of the practice, celebrating milestones, and sharing the vision of creating a welcoming place where clients could receive exceptional care.
In 2007, that vision became a reality with the opening of Maple Shores Health Centre. What started as a dream has continued to grow over the years through thoughtful renovations, expansion, and a commitment to creating a space where clients feel comfortable, cared for, and supported on their health journey.
In 2010, Tony and Alicia were blessed with twin boys, and their family was complete. Becoming parents has been one of their greatest joys and continues to inspire the balance they strive to maintain between family, work, and serving their community.
In 2020, Alicia officially joined Tony as co-owner of Maple Shores Health Centre, strengthening a partnership that had already been decades in the making. Together, they continue to lead the clinic as partners in both business and life, united by a shared passion for health, wellness, and serving and supporting their community.
Today, Maple Shores Health Centre is more than just a clinic—it's a place built on relationships, trust, compassion, and a genuine commitment to helping people live healthier lives. We are grateful to every client who has been part of our story and look forward to caring for our community for many years to come.
